Ann 72 and Evelyn 69 are my aunts. Currently, they live with me. They are elderly and have many health problems. My house has a co-owner who has forced the sale of the home.
This will leave my aunts homeless. They are on social security and do not qualify for a loan or a rental application, even if I sign the lease. The funds being raised will provide a year’s lease to be paid for in full and therefore I have found someone willing to rent a 2-bedroom home to them.
Ann has pulmonary disease and is Oxygen dependent, she has several medical equipment to help her function daily. While she does need assistance, she does not need 24-hour care.
Evelyn has severe Lymphedema, pulmonary issues, and a heart condition (atrial fibrillation) fluid build at high levels and she is in the hospital now so they can drain and monitor the effects on her heart.
I care for their needs they cannot do for themselves. Shopping, doctor visits, medications, laundry and house cleaning. Home Health Care assists with personal needs but some things they can manage for themselves.
They nor I can afford assisted living and they do not qualify for nursing home care.
It is my hope to raise enough funds, through various means, to provide them with a safe and accommodating place to live for at least a year.
