For the past year Shawn has been doing outpatient therapy where in physical therapy he has worked to strengthen his leg muscles, increasing his standing time and focusing as much on walking as possible.

Recently Shawn demoed a new walking device. He showed immediate improvement.  This device structurally is better suited to Shawns needs. It provides better trunk support which allows him to keep his torse straight and does not bend forward.

This device will be an improvement from the one he’s been using at the hospital. It removes more weight from his legs which allows him to focus more on movement and muscle control.  There also will be no straps or buckles round his head which cause distractions and rub and cut his head on.

During the demo he did not require his knees to be blocked and was able to  keep his knees locked better on his own while standing. He immediately began picking his feet up better and began initiating a forward stepping motion.

If Shawn showed this much improvement in just a few minutes, one can only imagine how much he would improve if he used this device regularly.  The sky is the limit.

Unfortunately insurance will not pay towards this device.

Shawn cannot continue to improve if he does not have the equipment that will allow him to do so.

By having this device, Shawn will be able to continually use it during therapy and working on walking more.  This device will be specifically upgraded and built for Shawn’s current and future needs. If things go as hoped Shawn will even have be able to use it in the home setting only needing Gaylas assistance.

Please help Shawn to continue to make those Mayo doctors eat their words and allow him to continue to keep smashing goals. The sky is the limit!

Stay Strong Shawn – Keep Walking Tall

Thank you everyone for your support.
