On Friday,  June 16th, while the Jones family was on vacation, Shane began having excruciating abdominal pains. They decided to cut their trip short and return to McKinney, where Shane was admitted to the hospital. After a series of MRI’s, CT scans, X-rays and blood work, which resulted in 2 blood transfusions, doctors have diagnosed Shane as having Stage IV Metastatic Colorectal Cancer.

Doctor’s discovered a large obstructive tumor in his lower rectum as well as 50% of his liver having tumors. A procedure to remove the tumor in his colon/rectum was not successful, so as they begin chemo targeting the tumors on the liver, the hope is the colon tumor will possibly shrink as well.  Shane’s chemo will once every 12 days. According to doctor’s, this particular cancer has no cure and would require Shane’s chemo treatments to be an ongoing part of his life. But, we know God is the God of the impossible and we are asking for the impossible!
As you can imagine, the financial burden incurred by treating cancer is staggering. The amount of chemotherapy, treatments, surgeries and hospital stays required to beat this cancer will span over months that could turn into years and will be in the millions of dollars. In addition to treatment costs, the extra costs of prescription and over-the-counter drugs, food, medical equipment/supplies for the colostomy, nutritional supplements and much more will add to the surmounting stack of medical bills.  What will be paid out of pocket for them month after month creates an enormous financial burden on their family. Shane is unsure how chemo will affect his ability to work which, as the main source of their family’s income, could also be problematic. It is our hope that through your generous donations, we can help alleviate this financial strain from the Jones family so they can solely focus on fighting for Shane’s life!
Shane, Becky, Jorja and Liam are salt of the earth people who love others so well, as is evidenced by the outpouring of love, prayers and support returned to them during this recent diagnosis. If the Lord puts it on your heart, would you consider making a tax-deductible financial contribution to them in their time of need? Let’s show the love and generosity of a community of believers to this wonderful, precious family!
Shane and his family were completely shocked by this diagnosis, but even in the midst of it, they have shown incredible courage and strength that only comes from their faith being firmly rooted in Christ alone. So even if you aren’t able to donate at this time, please speak life over Shane and continue praying for healing, provision and for God to work a miracle in Shane’s body! Our hope and trust is in Jesus and we believe with full confidence that God has an amazing plan for Shane and his family.
Also if you didn’t know, Shane’s first name is Wilton and those closest to him reserve the use of that name for special occasions or when referencing how awesome he really is, so his kids thought the hashtag #wiltonwillwin was perfect for Wilton Shane’s fight ahead!
