UPDATE ON MICHAEL
Surgery at Duke went very well and he is back home and starting chemo through the pump that they installed  on his liver. They were able to remove the tumor in his colon, and they believe that they got it all! They saw no other cancer outside of his liver!!  Recovery is very painful and slow, but we believe that he will continue to get stronger once the incision pain gets better . Right now he can’t move around much at all. Please continue praying for him please! This is so difficult to ask when everything has gone so well, but he isn’t out of the woods yet and we know that prayer has made the difference in showing God our faith in His healing, and in comforting his  family through this long ordeal.
Michael hasn’t and won’t be able to work for awhile and Julie has missed and will have to miss a lot of work still traveling back & forth to Duke for follow ups and more chemo treatments. Please pray for safe travel and chemo success !
We simply can’t thank you enough for all that has been given and done for this precious family, but we do pray that you will be blessed for giving so selflessly.

We have cried together, and prayed together, and begged God for healing and strength for this man who was suddenly way closer to dying than living when Michael was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer that had spread to his liver. God heard our prayers and calmed our fears time and time again when the tests gave us hope and more hope!
Well, we feel like this is what we have been begging God for! His plans have changed doctors’ plans and work plans and family plans and the time has come to RALLY UP! We don’t know what to expect in the weeks and months ahead but we will trust God to provide a way, and I have asked for permission to ask you that if you feel led to help this family financially, it would mean so much to them! They are looking at traveling to Duke, over 5 hours each way, for treatment so that Michael can hopefully have surgery to remove the tumor on his liver. We don’t know how this intense chemo will leave Michael feeling, and if they might have to live there at some point. It is all uncertain, but God is in it and we know it’s what we have prayed for! I am sure you all can imagine if you had to change your whole life at a moment’s notice and add in the medical & traveling expenses that it would be overwhelming. Please just help if you feel led and pray for them either way. Pray for this treatment to not only be successful but swift and hopefully painless for Michael. Chemo so far has been working great but leaving him with a lot of pain.
It’s been such a blessing to see God move mountains and to see how much Michael has meant to so many people outside of our family. He is a very special man with a huge heart and a passion for God’s business down here.
Thank you from all of his family, and may God greatly bless you for sharing in this journey with us and giving of yourselves so unselfishly.
