a 66-year-old woman who has a debilitating nerve condition on my 5th cranial nerve. It is called trigeminal neuralgia. I became disabled in Jan 2020 because of the trigeminal neuralgia. TN is excruciating and debilitating pain from a nerve in my head that is being touched by veins. I have had two brain surgeries and radiation to help, but it is incurable and flares-up whenever I am under stress. I will never be able to work again.
Any stress that I am under can cause a flare-up of the Trigeminal Neuralgia at any time. I was a high school reading teacher and I miss working in my career path. I also do not have any help at home, so I will need to hire someone to come in and help me during my recovery time.
I was recently diagnosed with Breast cancer. Also, I am waiting for a CT scan to check for cancer in my groin. This is the beginning of my journey, and the medical bills are already piling up. I have never asked for help before, but I know I will not be able to keep up with the out-of-pocket costs because Medicare will not cover all my treatments and tests. My medical insurance is Medicare with a supplement. I chose this insurance because I do travel out-of-state for treatment for Trigeminal Neuralgia.
