Hello.
I am here today to ask for help with my SMUD bill. It is my electricity and power. I have gotten past due and they just called me today saying that if I do not pay 255.00 by 12/25 my service will be cut off the next day. I have never had such a high bill, and I called and spoke to a supervisor to ask if there was anything they could do to postpone this payment. Especially because it’s Christmas. I want to be able to at least by my kids 1 nice gift. I have so many other bills. My whole check every other month goes all to my rent. The other check I keep for a whole month to pay bills like this and usually end up having to overdraw my account. I am reaching out for help this time because its Christmas. If you could help, I would be so happy. Ever since Covid, this is when I got past due and they allowed it before because of the pandemic. Ever since then I have been trying to get my balance down and it is very hard with all of the other bills I have. I have a garnishment right now taking out of my check from the IRS and so my check is even lower now. I just got it today and it seems like this is all happening at Christmas time. My PG&E is also due, but I am not sure if they want to disconnect me. I plan to get a better job soon. I am currently training to be a developer and hoping to apply for a better job soon. If you can help, it would help me out tremendously.
