Hi! My name is Natalie. I am a college student majoring in English, and I love to write!

College is difficult for me, and not in the way many people would think. I suffer from several chronic illnesses, mainly fibromyalgia, hypermobile Elhers-Dalos Syndrome (hEDS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS), that cause severe fatigue, heart palpitations, nausea, chronic pain, and breathing difficulties. Along with these, I also have suffered with gastrointestinal issues, including bile reflux (which is incredibly rare), double vision, and severe dyspnea, which landed me in the hospital. I am what doctors call a “medical zebra.” However, I have tried to remain positive!

I have prayerfully considered applying for a service animal. Service animals have become increasing popular for those suffering with EDS and PoTS. Service dogs can retrieve items, detect spiked heartrate episodes, and provide comfort during episodes.

However, service dogs for these disabilities are expensive, and that’s where I need your help. A 6-month-old puppy costs 19,000 dollars!!! That is not feasible for me to pay on my own, especially as I reach my final years of college. But with your help, this goal becomes a little more achievable. For a down payment, I need at least $500.

Any donation is helpful. I thank you very much for any and all help in this project. God bless you!
