In December 2022 I was diagnosed with malignant neuroendocrine tumors (stage Date: unknown, Stage IV), malignant carcinoid tumor of the terminal ileum with lymphovascular invasion present.
That was sure a mouthful! So the short term is NETS.
What a Christmas present this turned out to be. Imagine getting this news at this time and being by yourself.
This has created a wide range of emotions that I was not prepared for and I cried every day. I was like is this a bad dream I’m in???
The pain and the side effects of the treatments just really made all of this a reality. I had doctor visits twice a week, which means more and more doctor bills. I am in need of some financial help. I had surgery in April and ended up having complications and had to stay in the hospital until May. I was so miserable in the hospital. I did not think I was going to survive this. Even after I was sent home, I had to come home with a PICC line. I am still trying to recover. I had quite a few things removed from this gut of mine. On top of all of that I have been fighting with my insurance. They will not pay more because they said the provider was in network but the hospital was not. I cannot afford this bill and I am in desperate need of help. Any help is greatly appreciated.
