Hi, I’m Keisha. My mom was involved in a crash on February 25th, her name is Dorothy. Earlier that day she came over to my house to spend some time with her grandchildren for her birthday. I left to run a few errands and came home about 8:20 pm with some takeout for my mom. Her husband had arrived to pick her up on the motorcycle to take her home, their drive home from my house takes 3 minute.
While driving back home a driver failed to yield a left turn on a residential street and struck the motorcycle. Both my mom and her husband were thrown off the bike. When EMS arrived they were both unconscious and taken to the closest and best trauma center in Tampa, Tampa General Hospital.
My mom is in critical condition in the ICU fighting for her life.
My family and I are raising funds to help support my mom through her recovery.
The other driver was not arrested at the scene nor was she given a DUI test. I am angry and upset of the fact that the police didn’t take the steps to fully investigate the crash. There is a great injustice in these circumstances. My family and I are working hard to do what the police officers did not do but should have. The driver was uninsured with a suspend drivers license and no car registration for 6+ months.
Her husband is stable and has return home to start his outpatient recovering from multiple fractures.
