My baby sister developed some odd symptoms about a year ago she delayed getting them checked out because unfortunately she was taking care of our grandmother at the time! Sadly or Nana passed away last year after which we urged Jennifer to take care of herself after going to the doctor and being referred to a specialist she was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma at 35 only a few months after having a mild heart attack while at work as a 9-1-1 dispatch officer! She underwent surgery and treatment that seemed to go well although treatment made her very sick and she was forced to step away from such a demanding job! She loved her job very much and misses it but was lucky to get a job working on the 4 days a week with a similar type position! However changing jobs has left her with a gap in her insurance. She had been having some odd symptoms again and after going to the ER was told that her blood work in urine screens showed signs of the cancer returning and she was urged to get a PET scan! It is extremely scary for me to even think about so I cannot even imagine how my sissy feels right now 36, a single mother of three, a 13 year old boy a 8 year old boy with autism and a 7 year old boy, losing our grandmother, being diagnosed with treated and beating stage 3 melanoma and less than a year ago, and now being told that it may have returned but having no way to find out! She is in need of a pet scan which she cannot afford the out-of-pocket expense roughly $4,800 and her job does not offer insurance due to the fact that she is considered part-time however she makes too much money for State insurance. I’m at a complete loss I have taken care of her since we were kids and I don’t have a way to help her with this! Her boys need her, my girls need her, I need her! She is the most amazing sister, mother, aunt, friend, woman I know!!! Please help her!!!
