Loved “Update on Marvin Robinson:
Marvin had an appointment with his radiation oncologist. His Dr called in a Lipodemia specialist. He has some swelling around the cancer site. They want to avoid infection. The plan has been changed to 33 treatments over a period of 6 weeks, 5 days a week plus 3 more days. This is a journey. Marvin’s right arm has the same kind of nodules as the left arm that has the cancer. Dr. said these nodules can spread. Radiation will start as soon as insurance gets on board. We covet your prayers.

As a human, the hardest thing to do is to ask for help when needed. We cannot be prideful and a Christian. The Lord tells us “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it”
With that being said, I am asking all friends, family, acquaintances, and even strangers who may have stumbled on this campaign, if it is in your heart to help, please continue reading.
Marvin Robinson was recently diagnosed with Merkle Cell Carcinoma. He found a rapid growing spot on his elbow. After multiple tests and surgeries, the original spot that was found, was removed with clear margins (Praise the Lord). However, in the same breathe the doctor delivered the news that, while the original area is clear, it had already metastasized to the nearest lymph node. It was purely by divine intervention and persistance that the second lump was removed and tested. Currently, it looks like it had only metastasized to the lymph node that was removed, however cancer is an omnious, unpredictable beast.
Merkle Cell Carcinoma is a rare, aggressive type of skin cancer. It is also called Neuroendrocrine Carcinoma of the skin. Merkle Cell commonly spreads beyond the skin, tending to travel first to the nearby lymph nodes, then if not caught early enough, can aggressively spread to your brain, bones, liver, or lungs. Since it is a rare type of cancer, the research is limited on the best treatment.
We believe in the Lord and trust that we are all held in His hands. Marvin is blessed to be surrounded by family who love him. Unfortunately love can only handle so much by itself. Marvin is a hard worker, a loving father, and a devoted husband. The next few months especially will be getting him set up with multiple doctors and specialists around the state.
Expenses are and will continue to pile up. He is expected to travel back and forth from his home in Jonesville to Alexandria at least 25 times. 5 days a week for 5 weeks for radiation. With check up appointments, extra imaging, immunotherapy and possible chemotherapy in between. Some appointments could be as far as Baton Rouge or Shreveport.
Marvin needs his faith and energy to fight this fight, he should not have to worry about how he will be able to afford these treatments to keep him alive and with his family, no one should. It is not an expense you think of when you have insurance. The gas, the food, the OTC medicines to help counter the drugs to help you stay healthy. Cancer will not claim him, neither should the expenses.
I know everyone is struggling. I understand money is tight. If you are able to give, even the smallest amount, can help alleviate a burden that I pray few will ever know. If you are not able to financially help, please don’t just exit this campaign, share if you can and say a prayer with me for healing.
Lord, I humbly come before You knowing that You are the Great Provider, the Great Physician. Please lay Your Almighty hands over Marvin, help guide the doctors’ hands, hearts and minds to allow them to heal him through Your Wisdom. I pray for financial relief for Marvin and for all those fighting cancer, that friends, church families and greater communities are motivated to come together to help fight with them the only way that they know how, through prayers and lending support in whatever ways they are able. Lord please allow Marvin and everyone affected by this terrible disease, peace of mind in terms of financials and motivation to continue going through this storm, for the rainbow at the end is always worth it. Let them know the sunlight waiting for them at the end of this journey. In everything we do, may you always get the glory you so rightfully deserve, as we praise Your Name always. Amen.
