I am fundraising in hopes to help my grandma and my mom get back on their feet and to help turn their house into a home.

They lost everything to a devastating house fire. They were fortunate to get out unharmed BUT now the reality of starting over is overwhelming.

Any help is greatly appreciated and no donation is to little.

A FEW WORDS TO HELP YOU KNOW WHO LUCY IS AND WHAT  HER SITUATION IS NOW…

Lucy was born and raised in West Sacramento and also raised 4 children of her own without the help of their father.  After a few misc. jobs, she decided to work for the state of California and landed a job in the mailroom. From there, she worked her way up to being a Supervisor for the State of California, Victims of Crime Department.

Several of years after retirement, sadly, Alzheimer’s creeped up on her and began to take over her life. Today, she is in stage 4 of Alzheimer’s and the most important thing right now is to help keep her where she is comfortable the most; her home with her daughter Kathy. (Kathy lives with her and takes care of her.)

…..

B-Line construction did a wonderful job of rebuilding the house. Now, a little  over a year after the fire, they are moved back into the house and Lucy is more content being back in a familiar place.

Unfortunately,  they were let down after receiving devastating news from the insurance company. The company that was hired to inventory EVERY item in the house for reimbursement purposes, accordingly to the insurance company, the list was lost; therefore, no items were written down and accounted for as the items were being tossed into the dumpster bins.

Kathy did her best to come up with a list. Everyone chipped in to help. Unfortunately  Lucy cannot help.  Now that they are back home, they were able to purchase the necessities to live; some new and some used, but they are in need of a lot more. Items that help make a house, a home. Things such as window coverings, screen doors, a refrigerator (they purchased a used one, which is fine, but I learned that it does fully close), throw rugs (big and small), a second set of bedding for each bed, tools ( stuff that we all have on hand to repair small jobs around the home), a full set of pots and pans, and so much more. It is clear that many of items were not accounted for.

Again, the reality of starting over is overwhelming. Any help is greatly appreciated and no donation is to small.

Thank you!
