“Hello Darling! How are you?” That is how every conversation has started with Nydia since I was a little girl. No matter the stress in her life or how her day is going, she is always more interested in how everyone else is doing than in talking about herself. She has never been a complainer. She has never wondered why she has had so much heartache in her life. She always says, “give it to God and don’t worry about it.”
Hello Family and friends! This is Marta Reppe and I am coming to you for immediate support for my aunt and Godmother, Nydia Escudero-Bishop. Our sweet Nydia has raised 3 children, 4 grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews and loved so many other children and adults that have crossed her path and sat in her kitchen for her home cooking. All this, despite having lost two loving husbands and a son at an early age. Yet she remains strong and steadfast in her love and her will to live life to the fullest. She is a giver. She is a positive force. A woman of faith! And it is our time to give back to her.
Nydia suffered a stroke a few years ago and her health has been in steady decline. She has continued to live alone and be independent through all of this, but she can no longer care for herself. She is suffering from congestive heart failure, has lost her vision almost completely and is now bed bound. We are asking for financial support from family and friends so we can provide her with private care at home as a nursing facility is not feasible. We want to keep her at home and comfortable, but she needs help around the clock for medical and safety reasons. If Nydia has ever prayed for you, given you a hug, a word of encouragement, or a delicious meal, you surely fell in love with her from that moment. She has a pure heart. She is a woman of God and while she is still strong in her faith, she needs us all now. Please help us so we can provide her with care and comfort in this time of need. Any donation will be helpful!
