Good morning, everyone – A quick addition to our last update on 6/4. After the stem cell transplant, anticipated discharge date of end of July to early August, Marina is required to stay close to UVA for daily follow ups. We are looking for a 2-bedroom suite/guest house in Charlottsville. We are also looking for assistance with practical tasks. If you or someone you know in Charlottesville would like to help, please contact Sam. Thank you!!

Dear family and friends,
First of all, and most importantly, we are so appreciative of your prayers and support for us. You have sustained and encouraged us through a very difficult time.
Until recently Marina had been healthy. After her last routine annual physical, however, she was referred to hematology, then after about 6 weeks of extensive evaluation and tests, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
We were fortunate to receive urgent medical care soon after second bone marrow biopsy. Marina is currently hospitalized, as of now 4th week of inpatient treatment (chemotherapy), and is pending next course of treatment. She is a strong and courageous woman. Though we do not know fully what is ahead of us, we continue to pray, hope, and trust in God’s provision, and thank you for your care and support for us.
There are many ways we can love and support Marina during this time. This specific page was setup to raise fund for medical and related costs. We are also coordinating childcare for Maggie (breaks our hearts that Marina hadn’t held Maggie for a month), meals for the family, and other practical needs (we drive about a hour each way for treatment) as we continue to navigate a challenging time for Marina and for us as a family.
