4 years ago, during the pandemic, my fiance was not feeling well for a few days and while out with my daughter collapsed, my daughter drove to the nearest hospital, my fiance was admitted for pancreatitis, she did not want to go to the hospital with all the covid going on so she tried to stay at home and deal with her pain and not tell anyone, when she collapsed and was admitted the next month was going to be a battle for her life, she spent the next month in the hospital unconscience hooked up to many machines, breathing for her, pumping medicine in her, feeding her, there were so tubes in and out of her I can’t even tell you how many, the doctors had told us that I have to except that with my fiance’s condition that she was probably never going to leave the hospital and that I should inform my children of this. and the time my youngest was 12, and my granddaughter was 7,
During that time life was frozen it was the longest time, we prayed nonstop, I am a knight of Columbus, I am a member of the men’s club at my church, I am very active in my church, I am very good friends with our deacons and priest, my fiance helped out at church with cooking food, and other parties etc,we had alot of friends praying in multiple states, she was on many prayer lists, though the grace of God my fiance did finally survive, of course she does have many issues with depression, and other issues, and will continue to have for a long time.
I am self-employed it cost me almost 1500.00 per month for medical insurance for me and my fiance, but with covid being shut down, I am unable to earn a living like so many other people; times are hard I burned up all my savings, on top of all that, the insurance refuses to pay for any of the medical bills because the hospital was not in network, they have sent my fiance to collections, she has been contacted by lawyers, she has been trying to get the insurance to pay she has sent documentation, copies of medical bills everything she can, and nothing has been paid on those bills
since that time in the hospital, my fiance has collapsed a few times, with issues and gone in a few days at a time, we try to pay what we can, but with everything in the world today going on, business is so slow, and I cannot even afford to pay bills as they are and winter heating bills are coming
my fiance is so depressed she cannot work, she barely gets off the couch, she is in a horrible place, we are trying to get her help, but that is a long process and with her mental condition, it is a daily struggle, for her, she has given up on, life, everything, we are trying to get her into programs and get her help
I am working as many hours a day as I can and trying to pay bills, I have wiped out our savings, I will probably be losing my business in a few months, as no one is spending money.
We are struggling, just like everyone else, and the medical bills keep coming in. Even if the insurance pays anything they have these outrageous deductibles and out of pocket cost before they pay anything, I have never asked for anything in my life I work hard, I am swallowing my pride but with my fiance’s medical bills and trying to pay bills and not lose our house, I am usually the person donating or raising money to help other people,
