Ray Hickaman passed away unexpectedly on November 3 in his sleep.  He was the Love of Debra’s life, and she was his. Debra, Cortney and their family are devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of Ray.

Galatians 6:2 (NASB), “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” We’re told to come alongside those who are struggling and share their struggles with love and compassion.  My hope and goal with this, is to raise enough money to allow Debra to spread it out over the next 24 months (after paying memorial/end of life services) to ensure that she is able to not stress over keeping the bills paid on time and the basic life needs meet. A sudden drop of almost 1/2 the household income is something that none of us could easily bare or afford.

Those of us who knew Debra and Ray knew that they were a love story that worked out and lasted thru many decades.

Ray had a varied career and was always willing to help a friend.  Some of his careers were; EMT, Truck driver, Carpenter, Mill worker. He enjoyed spending time with friends, hunting and fishing, camping, 4 wheeling, horseback riding, and traveling. He touched many lives and was always happy to help.

This is a fund to help Debra with the expenses related to memorial, funeral, and the adjusting to having almost half the household income suddenly gone. Debra is not old enough to collect Ray’s social security benefit and will not be for 4 more years.  This drive is for all who wish to help and to be able to provide a means for her to not have to stress over the existing household bills and the additional costs of the end-of-life related bills, with such a huge cut in income.

Being a Widow is hard enough without financial burdens.
