Has not been employed since Oct. 2022. because of really bad customers and a huge workload shortage at her employment. Had a really bad hamstring accident in Dec. 2022 where she had a four hour operation and 9 months of physical therapy to learn to walk again and do normal life activities. Did not go up stairs until Sept. 2023. In the spring she got covid again and it hit her hard even though she had Paxlovid. The residuals have set her back quite a bit. They call it long covid. In the meantime, she was scammed online for a substantial sum. This brought back many childhood issues that were just under the surface and now she is having to deal with them. By the help of family and friends she has kept up with bills despite NO income. She is now getting food stamps and is on Maine Care insurance. Otherwise nothing coming in at all. Laurie has been an integral part of the community in many jobs helping in many ways. Her goal is to get better physically and mentally and to get back to helping others. The amount asked for is the price of the furnace replacement, current bills, and upcoming bills to ensure she can keep her house in Damariscotta. Recently Laurie fell again on the steps and injured her good leg. She is going to have that looked at very soon. One more thing on the road to recovery.
