My daughter Kimberly Ridgaway at age 43 suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on June 23, 2024. Hemorrhagic stroke is an emergency condition in which a blood vessel in the brain ruptures and causes bleeding inside the brain. This causes severe headache, tingling, or paralysis in face, arm, or leg, trouble swallowing, trouble with vision, loss of balance, loss of consciousness and confusion. A neurosurgeon with advanced training and years of experience with acute stroke and other cerebrovascular conditions will evaluate a patient to determine whether surgery is the best course of treatment. Kim has no insurance and the medical bills are extreme. She was sent from Beaumont, TX to Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital via Life Flight. Memorial Hermann Life Flight® is a critical care air medical transport service based in Houston, Texas. They transport critically ill and injured patients in the greater Houston area within a 150-mile radius of the Texas Medical Center. Luckily we are 100 miles from Houston. Kim was immediately evaluated and taken into surgery. She was not supposed to make it but miracles happen! She is left paralyzed and unable to fully function. She’s a fighter!
Kim is 43 years old with 3 grown children. We created our own army to take turns making sure her physical needs are met. Kim lives with me and has been my care taker for 10 years. I was diagnosed with lung cancer the same day she had her stroke. I have insurance so this is not about me. Help me HELP KIM! She is the most important thing in my life. I do believe in miracles.
Kim was born on July 19, 1980. She has 3 grown children, Jordan, Timothy and Madison. She has 3 grandbabies that adore her, Noah, Matthew and Paisleigh.
Thank you for listening,
Sharon Ridgaway
