My daughter Rhiannon is a loving, generous and caring woman; more concerned with her family’s well being than her own. In March she was diagnosed with Grade 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. A biopsy found two lumps in her right breast and that cancer had spread to the lymph glands. This was followed by a partial mastectomy soon after. The oncologist then ordered two series of chemotherapy. First treatment started in May and ended July 10th. On June 9th she was hospitalized for a jugular vein clot and is now on anticoagulants as well.
The doctor warned her the second drug will be more debilitating. The second chemo regime (Taxol) starts the 23rd of this month and will continue for 12 weeks, well into October. Some of the Taxol side effects are severe. This will be followed by radiation.
She is self employed and no longer able to maintain full time hours due to the side effects and some days she cannot work at all. Her insurance is covering many medical bills, but not all. It is highly unlikely that her income will provide enough to cover her medical expenses, much less the cost of living. As her condition deteriorates, she will become more dependent on others and more in need of financial assistance
I am doing this fundraiser despite her protests. She is very strong willed and believes she can do this on her own. It has already been a long journey and it has just begun. Any support will be gratefully appreciated.
