Hello all! My name is Denise and I am organizing this campaign for my brother Jerry.

Some of you may not be aware but my 44 year old brother was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer and liver cancer. Our Mother passed away in December, two weeks before Christmas of last year and he was diagnosed New Years Eve after being rushed to the emergency room because he was vomiting copious amounts of blood as well as some other very scary symptoms. He spent the first week of 2023 in the hospital. He required a massive blood transfusion due to blood loss. We were told that had we not gone to the emergency room with him when we did, he likely would not be here today. He underwent multiple tests while in the hospital leading to the cancer discovery and diagnosis. He has had to be hospitalized a few more times due to the complications of his disease. To add even more hardship is that Jerry was also born with a relatively unheard of condition by most people called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. I am not welo versed enough to explain the condition well but basically his body doesn’t produce enough of this enzyme. Alpha-1 Antitrypsin is an enzyme that helps to protect the lungs and liver from disease.

Jerry is single, lives alone and the only support he currently has is his immediate family which consists of myself amd my almost 80 year old Father. To say that we are struggling is an understatement. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is, by itself, a huge, life changing event. Not really being able to process and grieve the the loss of our Mother has made it even harder.

He has gone through radiation for the cancer in his parotid gland and is moving forward with treatment. He is due to begin chemotherapy this month for the cancer in his lungs and liver. A liver transplant is also going to be required at sime point in this process.

This is going to be a lengthy fight but he’s trying to stay positive and put all of his focus and energy into winning his battle.

Unfortunately his fight with cancer has made him unable to work so if you can help in anyway; donation, prayer, positive vibes – anything and everything helps.

Another thing that would help lift his spirits and give him something else to focus on would be to receive words of encouragement. I would love for family and friends to reach out to him. It could be a simple text message, email, a quick phone call or even a card in the mail. If you want to reach out to Jerry but don’t have his contact info, you can reach out to me and I will provide it. I am a little leary of putting his personal info on here do you can email me at Drlinn69@gmail.com or message me on Facebook and I will provide it for you.

If you could, please take a moment and share this information, our family would ve very grateful.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support. ❤
