LauraAnn is one of Walt Bickel’s daughters. She has been the strongest of matriarchs for the family, with her best intentions of keeping all of the family traditions alive. Especially the traditions centered around the time we spent in the desert at Grandpa’s cabin. Easter Sundays were always her favorite, although she liked all of the people gathered at Thanksgiving too. With all of the crowds, she was always sure to make her famous carrot salad. LauraAnn made many lifelong friends, as her father did in the desert. I am calling on her friends now, to help her in her time of need. As many of you know, my Mom is currently living in an assisted living senior home. We were given notice recently that they are raising the rent by $500.00 a month. My mom does not have the income to support this raise in housing costs. I am asking for help to cover this increase in rent. I am in the process of finding out other ways to cover this increase, although for the month of May, I am falling short. Any amount you can kindly spare to help out will be so appreciated. My mom carries all of you in her heart, and although she is getting old and forgetful, her spirit remembers all of the cherished memories you created with her always.
