4/6/2024 Update:

It is with a very heavy heart that we share Debbie’s passing on April 3rd, 2024. Her husband, Nathan Albee, and her sister, Lorry Lemire, were at her side gently embracing her as she drifted off. Services will be held at Bouffard Funeral Home in Manchester, NH on 4/12 from 2:30 – 4:30. All are welcome as pay tribute to a beautiful woman who enhanced the lives of so many.

3/29/2024 Update:

On this wet, rainy day Debbie was transitioned to a hospice house where she is getting around-the-clock care that she very much needs. Thanks to special donors like you the financial burden for her care is being made a little easier. It won’t be long now.

3/22/2024 Update:

Thank YOU, Thank YOU, Thank YOU to everyone that has so generously given to my campaign. Every little bit will help. My doctor paid a house call this week and says I have about one month to live. The cancer has spread to my liver and I am getting weaker every day. Hospice delivered a hospital bed and right now I am still able to be home. My sister, Lorry, and my husband, Nathan, are looking after me as best they can. I wish I was up for having visitors because I would love to see all of you. Unfortunately I am just too weak and spend most of my time sleeping. Please say a prayer for me that my final days will be pain-free and that I drift off peacefully. Please also say a prayer for my daughter Bella who is having a hard time understanding what is happening to me. She will need lots of compassion and support once I am gone.

Original Post:

I am in my final days of battling ovarian cancer and need around-the-clock medical care. Hospice has been so helpful, but unfortunately the 24/7 care that I need is not covered by my insurance, nor Medicare. Until now I have been able to keep up with providing for my family, and household expenses from paycheck-to-paycheck. With no insurance or government assistance to help pay for the increased care that I need for my end-of-life, I am at a loss as to how to pay for these services. All I want is to die with dignity and grace, with the care I need in my final days. I’ve been given an estimate of $12,000 – $24,000 needed to cover medical and funeral expenses. We are selling off assets and having yard sales to raise funds, but it won’t be enough. If you are able to give, my family and I would be so grateful and humbled by your kindness and generosity.

For those of you that don’t know me, I simply want to add that I am leaving behind my disabled daughter that will need lots of love, care and attention after I pass. Being blessed with the ability to get the medical services I need will relieve the burden on her and the rest of my family.

Cancer is such a terrible disease. For over 4 years I’ve been going through chemotherapy and fighting the good fight. I was determined to beat this disease and be here to watch my daughter grow up. Then, last fall the medical community ran out of treatment options for me and there was nothing else they could do. Now focus has been on trying to control the pain until I pass away. I hope no one ever has to feel this amount of pain that I do. It is crippling and debilitating. Over the past several weeks my family has been taking care of me while my body fails. As the pain increases and my body continues to fail, I just can’t care for myself anymore and I need professional nursing around the clock.

I can’t thank you enough for your kindness. Any donation would be humbling and appreciated, and help me and my family get through these final days so that I can spend my time being cared for to die in peace and with grace and dignity.
