Hello, thank you for reading this. I’m a very independent and private woman, living alone with my dog Lucy who I rescued 4 years ago. I live a very simple and quiet life with no extras. I don’t even have a television. I’m almost 78 years old and have worked all my life, since I was 12 years old. I’ve been blessed with many interesting and varied jobs throughout my life. I’ve been self employed for almost 12 years, and now I’m looking for a 2nd and 3rd job, doing most anything but I need to find help quickly. My work has been very steady for many years, but has recently slowed down greatly, but I’m optimistic that it will be busy again soon. I’m used to working 7 days a week, so I’m not a lazy person. I got behind on my rent recently because I helped someone who, as it turned out, couldn’t pay me back. I’ve learned my lesson there.
I’ve lived here almost 2 years, we’ve made many good friends here, and if I lose my apartment, I’ll be in the streets, living in my car. So I desperately need to get back on track with my rent as soon as I can. I’ve applied for temporary assistance, but nothing has happened yet and there’s no guarantee of getting help there. There’s a long wait time. I have no family or friends to help me, everyone seems to have too many problems of their own, and no place to go. My son lives in New Mexico and has a very ill wife, so they have their own problems. I just need to get through the next few months and I’ll probably be able to make it through. I have some health issues, but I’m basically a healthy person, I’ve always worked hard as a single mom raising my son. I’m very thankful for 2 local food banks that I can rely on, so food isn’t an issue at this time. But I can’t give up, it’s not like me. I’ve always been the person helping others and it’s very difficult to ask for anything, but I’m begging. Any funds would be greatly appreciated and would be quickly and directly applied to my rent.
I never thought I would be in this situation at this point of my life, but here I am. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. I wil surely give back when i get back on my feet. I’m a firm believer in karma. Thank you in advance for your help ❤️
