On July 11th, Ron went to Kaiser Vallejo for a major but expected/scheduled surgery for a renal aneurysm. There were complications during the procedure which resulted in the surgery being 13 hours instead of 7 and losing 9 pints of blood.

Being who he was, Ron put up a fight for 8 days and underwent several more surgeries. Sadly, on July 18, he suffered a major stroke, all of his major organs were failing him. Knowing he would not have any quality of life and his feelings on that he was taken off life support and passed quickly, around 7:15pm. Carol, Cristy and Jennifer were there to send everyones love with him.

Ron had a bigger than life personality. He loved Carol and his daughters and was so proud of his 4 grandkids. He loved to go to see his Grateful Dead friends and hear their music. His dog Buster will miss him most of all, we are sure. He went out and experienced life through his shows and friends and Giants/Savannah Bananas(he got to go to 2!!)  games as much as possible. He even scheduled his surgery so he could go to the Mare Island Classic Rock Fest where he danced and enjoyed his favorite bands and musicians he had become great friends with on Fathers Day weekend. He will leave a huge hole on the hearts of those who loved him.

We are hoping to raise $2500 to assist with cremation and other expenses.

Anything helps.
