UPDATE 11/20/23:
I have been diagnosed with severe arthritis and both knees with approximately 14% cartilage remaining. I now have excellent Health Insurance, which will become effective December 1st and I can get the ball rolling for Surgery! At this time my main concern is the time I will need to be out of work for surgery and recovery, with those bills that still keep coming in. Any help that you could give is greatly appreciated! And please share!
About a year and a 1/2 ago I fell and injured my knee and shortly after lost my health insurance so I wasn’t able to properly care for it. Recently the pain has become unbearable and earlier this week I went to the doctor, and he informed me that I have “free-floating” bone fragments in my knee, from when I fell, which have torn my meniscus tendon and since it’s gone untreated, so long it’s also caused a large popliteal cyst. Long story short, (I know, I know, too late lol), my doctor says that more likely than not, I’m going to need surgery to repair it. The cost will be anywhere from $5,000 to $8,000 to to repair the damage or up to $20,000 if surgery is needed as he thinks. I’m working on applying for government Healthcare, but it’s a long process. In the meantime, my rent, electric, insurance ect… are also an added stress. My employers have been absolutely amazing and are holding my position for me for as long as I need, so at least I don’t have to worry about that. And because it’s me, the first person to donate and the first person to share will get a yummy box of treats made by yours truly! I love you all to the moon and back and anything helps. Even if all you can do is share this fundraiser with your friends.💜💜
