My dads name is Joe Dickerson, he is 64 years old. Sweetest man you will ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He has worked hard his whole life up until 2 weeks ago. For the past 10 years he has been a hydraulic mechanic its been hard on him but he has loved it. . Just recently He was diagnosed with colon and throat cancer. We had no idea, it hit very fast and hard at the same time. Within the 2 weeks i have had to help with moving him into my home and cleaning his out currently because he can no longer keep his house clean or provide for himself. He can no longer work due to not having the energy to barely move now. The medical expenses are outrageous trying to keep up with every bill. He has never had insurance before and we are in the process of trying to find him coverage in the meantime till he can draw his SSI. Most insurance coronaries do not want to handle a new client with already being diagnosed with cancer and the ones that do want an arm and leg monthly. We have already dropped roughly 3.5k in 2 weeks on just hospital and dr visits. We have never had to deal with the financial part of this before. We are just trying to find some sort of assistance. He is no longer working and we are from a very small town where most of these company’s don’t provide insurance. I’ve googled just about every organization and companies trying to find financial assistance for him. Donations would be great but even advice on organizations would be greatly appreciated!
