Please meet Wadesha Cartwright, she is 14 years old. She has Hirschsprung’s disease.
(Hirschsprung disease is a disorder that causes infants to be unable to make a bowel movement. The large intestine or colon causes problems with passing a stool. There are missing nerve cells in the colon muscles. Surgery is the only course of action to get rid of the diseased part of the colon).
She is from the Bahamas and was scheduled to have surgery this morning at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL. Unfortunately, the hospital or medical staff did not inform me of any other additional fees.
I begged for my daughter to have this surgery and that I would figure a way out to pay the balance but no one is listening to me. I am frustrated and close to giving up on hope. It pains me to see my daughter going through this pain and suffering. As a mother, I want to do everything to help my daughter but I feel like, Im losing this battle.
Due to financial hardship we could not proceed with the surgery this morning. Wadesha, is a special need child. She is an amazing princess, and she brings so much joy into my life. She is my only daughter. We don’t need 5k or s10K to make her life better. We have been here for 2 weeks, there are times she goes without food due to financial hardship.
Please, please. please help make a difference in Wadesha Life. She has been suffering with this disease for too long.
