We are thankful to our friends, actually family that has helped.

God Bless!

I have spent my entire life in service to others, and now I ask others for support. I’m a very private person and I have been handling this myself, but now I need help from others to help me and my five boys. In May, the boys and I fled our home due to ongoing family violence. It took my 13-year-old looking at me after his father jerk him over the counter by his hair and William looking at me to say “Aren’t you going to do something about this”? For many years, the cruelty, angry outbursts, and bruises on the children have been part of life, our normal. War changed their father greatly and we as a family all lived with the consequences of war.

In May, once the protective order had been served the boys and I were to go back to our home; however, due to him hiding and not being served and him owning guns we spent the next month transient staying a at several Air BNBs. After a month, the children did not feel safe, so we moved seven hours from San Antonio but still had to remain in Texas due to child custody. I secured a rental house, which is smaller than our home and the rent is more than my mortgage. I was out of work for over a month due to me working from home and not having a secure place to work from or having my work computer. I was cut off from my bank account, the children and I had to get health insurance through my work, which included co-pay’s and payment for meds. For the last 17 years we had Tricare insurance where everything is covered. In addition, I had to borrow from my retirement plan to pay for the move, security deposit, food, new clothing items for the boys, and all the bills I had in my name. I even had to continue to pay car insurance for their father.

We had a court order where certain items from the home I had requested, and he had agreed to give the boys and I those items. Per the court order, we had to pick the items up on a certain day during a certain time. I had to hire a moving company to pick up the items and move them to my new location. The moving company quoted me $9,000; the day they came to pack and pick the items up they were over an hour late and once they started packing the stuff the price went up to over $16,000. They said if I did not sign the paperwork and pay they would take my items back and leave them on the lawn. With that being said, most of the items I was to pick up via court order had been removed from the home.

My lawyer reached out to the military to get financial support, but they said they would have to go to the senior enlisted, but this was him. The senior leader. FAP investigated and asked why I never sought help, and ultimately deemed the child abuse as inappropriate discipline. CPS investigated and reported the children have been removed from the home therefore they are safe. Their father who makes triple what I make reported he could not pay support for the children due to bills, but he would start in October. In October, he retired from the military with 26 years good service. He still has not paid any support for the boys, and no action has been taken from the court system.

Now I’m barely making enough to cover rent and groceries for the boys.  My credit dropped 250 points in five months. I have reached out to my creditors for deferment in payments, but I was able to get one month deferment. I have exhausted my savings, my retirement plan, and due to my credit can not take out a loan. Right now, my car is going to repo if I do not catch the payments up, which is $3,807.79. Without our car, I can not transport my children to and from school to doctor appointments, or to their school activities/games. My electric is behind and is $611.67 and gas $119.31; I outreached to the agencies I tell clients to reach out to for assistance, but the two organizations reported all funds are exhausted. My boys have no winter clothes, the school has helped get the two youngest Johnny (5) and Matthew (11) a few winter outfits, but that still leaves the three older Nick (16), William (13), and Michael Anthony (12). Also, I’m at a location where we do not know a single person and have no support; I have requested to the court to move home to South Carolina where my family and friends are, but I have been denied a few rental places due to my credit and being behind on my electric. I have found a property that will rent to me, but requires a security deposit of $2,300- and first-months’ rent, and the cost of a budget moving truck which is roughly $3,000.

Please help us stay off the streets, keep our car, and relocate to South Carolina. Any help will be greatly appreciated or please repost and pass this on so someone might help us. I have applied for government programs, but my income is at the line, but this does not take in account retirement repay, and insurance. I feel I have been forsaken by the community, the legal system, and the military community, and escaping the violent environment we have loss everything. All me and the boys truly want for Christmas is to be able to keep our car and relocate to family.

Thank you for your support and from the boys and I God Bless.
