UPDATE #2: This is Paige, Larry’s wife. Tomorrow he has his 3rd chemo treatment and 11th radiation treatment. After tomorrow he will have 3 or 4 chemo treatments left and 22 more radiation treatments before they scan him with a CT. If scan is same or better, he should move to immunotherapy treatments. If scan is worse…well, we are just praying and believing we don’t have to worry about that. Thank you all for being an answer to a prayer we have both prayed. Your donation gives Larry peace of mind so that he can focus on the fight and for that I’m eternally grateful! Praying the Lord blesses you all. ❤️❤️❤️

Update:  We have raised 1200.00 of the 5000.00 goal!!  I want to thank everyone who has donated and shared the story of Larry.  Not only are they extremely grateful, but please continue to share the story as I know that we will meet our goal for Larry and his family!  The momentum is strong, and I know that we can remain that way with everyone continuing to spread the word for such a great man and his family!

To begin, let me say how much it is appreciated that you have taken the time to help Larry during one of the most challenging times in his life.  My name is Cindy Reeves and I met Larry and his family nearly 30 years ago.  I was pregnant with my second child and had just been released from the hospital after being airlifted due to a car accident.  After being released, I made my way back to the vehicle where it still sat from the wreck.  It was late afternoon and people were starting to leave work and begin their commute.  At the time, Larry and his family lived in a small town called Wingate, TX.  The wreck took place on the highway between Abilene, TX and Wingate, and just happened to be the same way Larry went to and from work.  Larry noticed us on the grassy area where my truck was somewhat stuck in a Rancher’s fence.  As most of you know, Larry has a servant’s heart and help’s others every chance he can. In true Larry fashion, he stopped to offer help.  Being pregnant, insecure and having low self-esteem at that time in my life, Larry scared me.  I know, crazy talk and a comical statement for those of us who know Larry.  Larry helped us get the truck back on the road and dealt with an extremely irritated Rancher because I messed up his fence.  Afterwards, the father of my unborn child asked how he could pay Larry back for helping us get back on the road.  At the time, the father was a tattoo artist, and while it took some time and “nagging”; I continued until he followed through on his offer to “make things right” with the man who was our saving grace.   I will be forever grateful that I did, or I would have missed out on one of the greatest blessings in my life, my relationship with Larry and his family.  I am a firm believer that God brings people into our lives for a reason.   I did not realize at the time the positive impact Larry and his family were going to have on me.  They continue to help, even if it was just a few encouraging words in a text message.  Larry and his family have always been helpful and did so with love and encouragement.   This is how they became my chosen family.  So, it is no surprise that Larry walked me down the aisle when I married.  He even put on a suit! Those of you who know Larry, know of the great things he has done for others, including raising money for those in need themselves.   He has always worked hard, taken care of his family and is very well loved by all who know him.  Recently, Larry was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer.  He is continuing to work, but he and his family are going to need our help!  Larry will have treatments Monday through Friday.  The exact time frame for his treatments is unknown but should begin soon.   His wife Paige will be going with him for his Monday cancer treatment and, if he feels well enough, he will go by himself Tuesday-Friday.  While they both work and Larry has insurance, we know that cancer treatments can be very expensive and help with gas will be a necessity.   This is the reason for setting up this account.  It is an hour drive each way from where they currently live to Abilene for him to receive treatments.  Gas is not only necessary for them to have in order to make those appointments, but if Larry needs Paige to drive with him more than one day a week, that will mean them both taking time off work.  While they have benefits at work to help with the stress of lost time, we all know how quickly those can be used up, especially if things were to change. I am not sure how Larry and his family have positively affected your life, but I can say that if I won the lottery and gave them half, it would not come close to what I owe them.  I know Larry would say that I don’t owe him anything, however, it is our turn to help them as they have others.  Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to help an amazing man!  Your donation will help take a little stress off of his shoulders so he can worry less and focus on his recovery.
