My name is Kristina, and I have been trying to conceive for the last 13 years with my husband. We both have a child from a previous relationship; however, we have not been able to conceive on our own. My husband is a disabled veteran, which has caused its own issues trying to conceive. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years back. I have been working closely with my OBGYN on different ways to try and conceive and manage PCOS for many years now, and no luck. I have not been ovulating, even with the assistance of fertility medications. Recently I had to have surgery thinking it was a large cyst, and come to find out it was my tube swollen with fluid and necrotic tissue. My OBGYN was shocked to find the mass. She was not able to save this, so it was removed. My other tube was not removed; however, I have to go in for further testing in two months to see if it is blocked due to scar tissue. There is a 90% chance that this tube will have to be removed this year. This would make it impossible to conceive in a natural way. InVitro will be necessary at this time to conceive.
For anyone woman or couple going through this is an emotional roller coaster. Not all testing was listed above but we can assure after 13 years of trying to conceive, many tests have been run. My goal is to raise for two rounds of treatment.
