For my birthday this year I am setting up this Give Tax Free Campaign for my Great Granddaughter, Emma Grace Crosby (13 y0) who is presently in Dallas receiving 6 weeks (30) specialized radiation treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Briefly, she was diagnosed with 2 tumors wrapped around her spine which were causing extreme pain and interfering with her ability to walk. She underwent immediate neurosurgery and a 14 day stay at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Thankfully the tumors were benign however the surgeon was only able to remove one entirely. The other has the potential to continue to grow if not removed. This particular type of tumor, although benign. frequently also reoccurs if not entirely removed or irradicated. Best results come from specialized radiation offered at MD Anderson Cancer Center rather than more traditional radiation offered by hospitals here in Arkansas. Most of Emma Grace’s medical expenses are covered by insurance, however, since she is not an inpatient; lodging and food is not covered. Additionally, her mother, Ashlie, is not able to work as she is with Emma. They can stay at Ronald McDonald House (a great facility) for a nominal fee, but it is not free. I am trying to raise $500 which is 2 weeks stay plus a little gas money to assist with their expenses. Additionally, I am requesting prayer for few side effects and complete healing for Emma.
