My life changed for the worse on March 2, 2023, when the biopsy results showed I had Stage 1b breast cancer. I was 41 years old. My reg yearly didn’t result in any lumps or scares, it was my very first mammogram. I am a single parent of 3, and a grandmother of 1. The loves of my life, the reason I am fighting so hard to beat and overcome this cancer.  I am truly blessed to be cancer free as of now. I do not have a history of cancer on either side of my family, and I do not carry the gene to pass down to my kids.  Blessed is an understatement for those results. I can fight this knowing my kids should not worry about me passing the cancer gene to them. I am a big Christian and have tried to stay positive through this fight. I am proud of myself to have gotten this far without giving up, or losing my faith.  After the mastectomy, my specialist informed me that my breast was covered in cancer. The MRI originally showed it to be smaller than 2cm. In actuality, it was 10cm. It was on its way to spreading to my lymph nodes. They found tumor cells in those samples, but thankfully not any cancer cells. My oncologist told me that I would have to do chemo and radiation cause of the size of the tumor. So I started chemo a month ago, and needless to say, I have lost my hair, but not my faith. My hair will grow back. Faith and family have gotten me this far, and I will not give up on either. I have been truly blessed with a good boss who has allowed me to come back to work on light duty. If it weren’t for that, I would not be able to afford to take care of my family. It is not easy to ask for help, but here I am asking to help with my financial burdens and to prepare myself for my last surgery next year. I have used up all of my time off, and I am trying to build it back up.  I am also blessed to have insurance, but the bills that follow are still crucial. I never imagined to know how much it costs to fight cancer. On top of medical bills, I also travel to my treatments and my medical team. I travel over 2 hours every other week.  Any help would be appreciated wholeheartedly. If you are unable to give monetary, please send prayers. I am accepting all I can get. Cause without Him I would not be where I am either. I am truly blessed to have gotten this far in the fight, and I am still standing strong.
