Hey guys, I am a 32 year old single mother of a wonderful 12 year old son named Aiden. Since October 2022 I have been battling cancer and now to our devastation I have just been diagnosed with two recurrent cervical cancer masses. Due to my condition (the chronic pain and mass blocking my ureter), I am unable to work. We have a surgery scheduled and planning on doing aggressive chemo and radiation. Unfortunately, my household is just my 12-year-old son and I and my only income was my employment. During my first surgery (less than a year ago) I had paid time off to cover my absence (I’m a nurse) and I worked during my radiation treatments even though my body was BEGGING me not to. I no longer have this option. My family has passed, and we have no one. I have no idea how I will be able to keep us in our home without some sort of help. Any help is greatly appreciated! I have applied for disability and I have been informed that IF they approve this (70% of cases are denied) there is a 5 month waiting period and I fear our family will be homeless. I have spent most of my adult life caring for those in need and this puts me in a very difficult position as I am the one that now needs to ask for help and it is very humbling. Any funds will go towards housing, medical treatment, and utilities while I am out of work.
