Hey, It’s Tereasa, 2021 was a heck of a year in July while on vacation for a wedding i fell hit my head  ended up in the ER  in August i had a serious reaction to antibiotics  still trying to recover from that i got covid, couldn’t breathe and ended up in hospital , went to my regular dr in October for  constant headaches which was from the fall  and i was suffering from post concussion symptoms but i brought up a concern i was having in my left breast which lead to a bunch of tests, biopsies,  mammogram,  mri etc.. which led to late October 2021 at 49 I was diagnosed with Paget’s disease,  a rare form of breast cancer, and invasive ductal carcinoma,  im also Her2+ my cancer is estrogen related, I will have to take a pill every day for the next 10 years to keep my estrogen low so my cancer doesnt come back. Not too long before receiving my diagnosis Rob had accepted an offer for a  good job in Tennessee so in the midst of all this chaos we were moving from Florida to tennessee  in November, luckily i was referred to an amazing dr in Memphis,   I started treatment in Feb 2022, did 18 weeks of chemo followed by surgery in August,  4 weeks of radiation and am currently 6 treatments in of 14 of second round of chemo, have had some time off since my last treatment on Feb 8  because of unbearable pain in my muscles and joints, trying to give my body a rest..  So i have 8 more treatments,  which is 24 more weeks. Through all of this I have not been able to work, chemo made me extremely sick the side effects from all of these drugs is crazy , i am super sensitive to things and if there is a side effect you can bet i will get it..my amazing husband has been working his butt off for us. We are not ones to ask for help; and I have struggled with this for quite awhile on what to do , my stress level is maxed ,if you know us you know this takes alot for us to ask but  this past year and a half has taken a toll on us financially,  trying to keep up with Dr bills which are piling up, I literally have a tote full. and just everyday expenses we’ve been  trying to manage everything on our own.   And honestly it’s beyond overwhelming.  Rob and i thank you for taking the time to read our story and understand what we’ve been going  through, we appreciate any help. Thank you! UPDATE 4/28/2023 I have started physical therapy 3xs a week to try and break up scar tissue and get range of motion back in my shoulder and to alleviate my pain. I start chemo back up on May 2nd hoping to get through these 4 rounds and be officially done with treatment.
