Hi, my name is Lisa and I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on May 5, 2023.

Multiple Myeloma is a blood cancer. It attacks cells in the bone marrow, then breaks through the bone, carrying the cancer to other parts of the body. Right now, my bone marrow is roughly 70% cancer cells. I am in a great deal of pain, but how to pay for chemotherapy is first on my mind.

It is extremely difficult for me to ask for help like this. But I am in dire straits. Even with insurance, a chemotherapy drug called Revlimid is over $4,000 a month. I cannot afford that.

I just moved to another city and then this hit like bricks. I had no time to make friends, I have no immediate family, and I have found myself completely alone. I have had to scramble to get help from churches for a ride when something involves anesthesia.

My vehicle barely runs and I’m now looking at 45 minutes there and back, for the daily drive to Fort Worth daily for chemo treatments.

I need help with transportation and medical expenses, on top of daily living. Medical expenses are eating into any car savings I had.

When it rains it pours. I have  profound hearing loss and my hearing aid is on last legs also. Without it, I would be completely deaf, without knowledge of sign language for an interpreter for doctors and such serious discussions.

I would deeply appreciate any help you could offer.

This is the first time for me, asking like this. I hope someone might hear me.
