As the result of a sudden death recently my daughter was hospitalized and it has left her and her daughter in a very precarious position. Without insurance, the medical bills alone have left her in a very difficult situation.There are avenues to help with some of the medical but that still leaves many stumbling blocks in the wake. For the time being she is left unable to work but that doesn’t stop the flow of bills from coming due. The rent, the utilities, and groceries, are all escaping her right now. She had built quite a life for herself and my granddaughter up to this point but all of that is on hold right now. She is normally a hard-working, industrious young lady who has forged quite a path for herself in life. I am unable to do anything for her at this time given my age and fixed income. I hold little store in material things in life but this is one time that they do matter. I am imploring anyone out there who has the capacity to do what you can at this time.
As a parent, I have watched my daughter blossom into the incredible young lady she has become. There is a feeling of helplessness in my heart,seeing what she is going through but at the same time I have faith in human nature. There was once a light and a spark in my daughter’s eyes that is very dim right now. I truly believe as I look at this that as people search their hearts they will realize helping her is the right thing to do. I have always taken pride in my ability help my children any way I can but at the same time, I have learned in life there are times you need to ask for the help of others. Eventually, my daughter will return to her quest for success in her life but for the time being that is eluding her. All I am asking is that you simply consider what I have shared and hopefully connect with that capacity for compassion that is instilled in all of us. At the end of the day it could be anyone of us in this position tomorrow. Maybe you’ve already been there. I understand in this day and age that people are skeptical when they here a story like this but I assure you this is my baby and she is truly struggling to rekindle her balance and it will take quite a while. We lost my wife in 2009 to cancer so I am left to carry her burden and sadness on my shoulders along with my own.
