My name is Andrea, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help during a very difficult time in my life. I am a single mother raising my three-year-old daughter completely on my own, and right now I am struggling just to provide the basic necessities she needs to feel safe and secure.
Due to financial hardship, our electricity has been disconnected, and I am behind on past rent. As a mother, this has been one of the most painful experiences I have ever faced. My daughter is still so little—she doesn’t understand why the lights won’t turn on or why our home feels dark and cold. All she knows is that things are different, and it breaks my heart that I cannot immediately fix it for her.
This past Christmas was especially hard. Instead of warmth, lights, and joy, we spent the holiday in darkness without electricity. I did my best to stay strong and keep a smile on my face for my daughter, but inside I felt helpless knowing she deserved so much more.
I am doing everything I can to move forward and rebuild stability for us. I am trying, but right now I truly cannot do this alone. Any assistance with restoring our electricity or helping with past-due rent would mean more than I can put into words. It would give my daughter comfort, safety, and the chance to simply be a child again without uncertainty.
I am not asking for anything beyond a chance—to get back on my feet and continue fighting for a better future for my daughter. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for any compassion you are able to show us during this very difficult time.
With sincere gratitude,
Andrea
