Hi. My name is Jenna Bernick. I’m a recent transplant recipient. I had my liver transplant Sept 05, 2023, I’m looking for some help to get my medical bills paid that are not covered by insurance. I was not working for a majority of 2022 and was hospitalized due to my cirrhosis of the liver/liver disease stage 4 last Aug just before my surgery. I was on disability but that did not cover much. I did return to work full time but still have to take time off for doctor appointments/follow ups. I live approximately 2 hours away from UCLA Medical Center where I had the transplant so I have to go there for my follow ups. I recently took on a part time job coaching boxing at a place called Nate’s Place A Wellness and Recovery Center for teens and young adults. Here we help them with mental health and addiction issues. I’m a boxing specialist so I teach them the basics of boxing for fitness and how to use boxing for fitness as an outlet. I very much enjoy it and although I’m still in recovery from my transplant I still do it.
