Update: My one donor I’m thankful for. The needs are still great, as I will be reaching out to friends, family, & benefactors to receive the simplest of things, At this point gas gift cards, Kroger cards for groceries, Home Depot, or even a prepaid cards. I was concerned for gas in the van to get to treatment on the 30th. Yesterday the local St Vincent De Paul store blessed me with food, compression medical boots, adult wipes, kitchen gear essential to cancer recovery.

This is the most challenging event of my life. More so than my 3 to four tours in some of the most dangerous places, courtesy of the Government & my choices. My Hope and prayer is that, I will continue to raise the full amount. The medical bills continue to come in the mail. My health returns, but I want to able to get my tools not to go to auction. I really want to work, but the doctor states I need to refrain from my trade.

The blessing is that the fridge is full of organic fruits & veggies, plus salmon. All the things to let my medicine be thy food. It takes a humble man to go out, locate pans that decrease cancer exposure. The amount of intel out there on how to beat this is all over the intenet. The catch? My payments for both vehicle insurance & van are due by the 9th of September. By the grace of God, I will reach donors, find side gigs, & get into a better place to pay my debtors asap. Ty for reading & God Bless!

Update bloodwork look’s good. White cells are up, insomnia is up, and I got some, new moon landing boots for the neuropathy (aka compression boots often used in the hospitals.

UPDATE:
Started my chemo as of 8-9-2023. The chemo has made me sick to my stomach and constantly tired. However, the lump on my back has gone down drastically & there is no cancer in my brain or spine! Which is amazing news, because it was causing me so much pain. Please continue to pray for me and my family as we go through this!

Hello everyone! My name is Douglas Guinn Elkins Jr., as some of you may know, I am a 47 year old man who is just now starting out in this journey of “The War on Cancer”. Currently working full time trying to get Medicaid and disability & authorized work by my oncologist. I have always worked hard for everything that comes my way. Wholeheartedly I’m the kind of person who would much rather help someone else before my own needs, & don’t like having to ask for help. But sometimes you have to turn to others.
Recently, diagnosed with Large Diffuse B Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma has changed my outlook on life. This is a type of cancer that makes it extremely hard for me to work in the type of environment that I was working in, due to work as a plumber my immune system just cannot properly tolerate it the way it should. With that being said, I have been & will be missing quite a bit of work over the course of my treatments & travel to appointments. Even with me missing work, bills will continue to accumulate, including medical expenses and everything else that comes with this disease.
My support team that will be helping me out as much as they possibly can, but they can only do so much, as can I. The physical and mental strength it takes to get through something like this is a whole different ballgame for me and the people in my life that this will affect as well. This is why I am starting this fundraiser in order to help with the financial aspect of my treatments. Anything helps, no matter how big or small. 100% of the funds will go to my medical bills, housing repairs, gas, vehicle maintenance for doctor’s visits, personal bills and expenses. I ask that if you can’t donate, just please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and send good vibes my way as me and my family endure this journey, we will need every bit of it. Anything helps. Thank you💚
