I am asking if you will help my friend  Tom Flood pay for his bilateral knee replacement surgery. I am hoping and praying that you will help us to raise $20,000 for our friend. Already 6 feet tall by the age of 12, Tom’s body was growing so fast that his joints could not develop correctly. This caused him lots of pain and discomfort. But, not letting his bad knees stop him, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and has worked physical jobs his whole life. Unfortunately, the knee pain has gotten so bad for Tom that walking is almost unbearable for him. Both of his knee joints are now bone on bone. He will be bound to a wheelchair by the end of this year if he does not get surgery. Tom is always helping others with the mechanical gift the Lord has blessed him with. He often donates his time to assist others with fixing almost anything. Tom never asks anything in return from those he helps. He has been instrumental in helping widows, widowers, and those with mental and physical disabilities. Tom has always enjoyed helping people, but has never been able to accept help himself, which is why we made this funding page for him. Tom will be incapacitated for at least 3-4 months following the surgery. Due to being self-employed, he does not receive the same disability benefits that others receive. He only has catastrophic insurance, which requires a $7,000 deductible before his coverage kicks in. Because the surgery has such a long recovery time, we are also asking for funds to help Tom pay rent and cover daily living expenses. At the same time, he regains his ability to walk comfortably. He is the sole provider in his household, as his wife is disabled. Tom lives within his means and is willing to use any community resources available to keep his living expenses as low as possible while he recovers. Tom’s surgery is set for June 30th. For those who are of faith, please pray for Tom and his family. Thank you.
