Jeffrey Mitchell passed away suddenly on May 12th, leaving behind his wife of 31 years, Shelley, his 10 kids (Micaiah, Schaeffer, Torrey, Elijah, Gideon, Josiah, Sophia, Jesse, Gabe, Sam), and his 9 grandchildren.
Jeff was a loving and devoted father. His care and thoughtfulness in raising his children knew no bounds, and they all inherited their father’s selfless love for people. Jeff was married to his college sweetheart, and their marriage was a godly testament to everyone who knew them. He remained madly in love with “his bride”, as he always referred to her.
Jeff served in ministry for over 30 years, 22 of those pastoring Harbor City Baptist Church in Melbourne, Florida. He loved the Lord, and had a passion to share the Gospel, help the helpless, and point everyone to Jesus Christ. Jeff was a Shepherd in every way, caring for those entrusted to him. Every week we hear of someone else that Jeff had ministered to, helped their marriage, encouraged, wrote a note, or sat by the bedside of their dying loved one. He was the epitome of “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” Matthew 6:3-4
This fund is to help the family cover living expenses as Jeff was the main provider but Shelley is in pursuit of a job she can do at home while finishing out homeschooling the children still at home.
