On Monday, February 26th, Dar took Bode to Shosone Medical Center, at about 4:00pm for stroke symptoms. He was immediately transfered to Sacred Heart. After the initial intake they rushed him into surgery for an aneurysm, brain bleed and stroke. Things are still very serious and he is not out of the clear yet. Today, Bode Dar and the boys are pulling together to be with him throughout his stay at the hospital. Right now, it looks like it could be a long recovery, but things can change from day to day. On March 1st, we had a great night with Bode and all there. He recognized us, was able to communicate and show that he understood with hand gestures, head nods, and eye expressions. Cody, Jordun and Randy played guitar and sang some of his favorite songs, and Bode joined in! He wasn’t able to speak, but he mouthed the words and we could understand that he was singing too! This gives us an indication that he will eventually get his voice back!

Prior to this incident, Bode had been off work since the end of November with a back injury. Workman’s comp had not kicked for his back, due to some paperwork complications, so their budget was tight already. While we’ve seen some incredible progress, we still know that it will be a long road with a long hospital stay, residential relocation, and rehab. Please keep Bode in your prayers, it’s working!

Instead of flowers or gifts, the family would appreciate snacks, drinks, or food cards as they don’t know how many days they’ll be there at this time. Dar is answering Bode’s phone when she can, but as you can imagine, that gets difficult too. Please be patient if you’re trying to contact them.

I’ve talked to the family about their food, financial needs and what they want to do as there may be a lot of travel and overnight stays. We decided that this fundraiser would be the very best way to help them, as the funds will be depositied directly to their account and they can use the money as needed.

Thank you to everyone who has continued prayers and responded to posts on Facebook. I will continue to update as I can. I’m also asking Bode’s daughter in law, Romane and my daughter Lindsey to help me out with this campaign and Facebook posts as well. Bode has built many lifelong friendships and connections through years of kindness and willingness to help others. He’s still that crazy, funny, life of the party guy that everyone loves (we saw that last night)! I know he wants to work hard to get back to his family and friends, but we may have to be patient as who knows how long his recovery will be. No matter what, we all love crazy Bode and want to see him back with us as soon as possible in whatever capcity he can. Keep praying and keep lovin’ on him!
