We are reaching out to our community today to rally behind a man who has always been there for us—our beloved husband, father, friend, and neighbor, Israel Rodriguez. At 52 years old, Israel is facing a challenge that he can’t overcome alone. He urgently needs total knee reconstruction surgery, a procedure that is critical for his health and well-being, but one that will also require an extended recovery period, keeping him away from the work he loves and the livelihood he has tirelessly built for his family.
Israel Rodriguez is not just a hardworking man; he is the cornerstone of his family and a pillar of our community. For years, he has poured his heart and soul into providing for his loved ones through his labor-intensive work in cement pouring. It’s a tough job, but Israel never complained. He’s the type of man who faces challenges head-on, always pushing forward, never letting anything slow him down.
His dedication doesn’t stop at the job site. Israel is the first to lend a hand when a friend is in need, the one who stays late to help a neighbor, and the father who shows up to every event, no matter how tired he is after a long day of work. His support is the foundation upon which his family stands, not just financially, but emotionally as well. Israel has stood beside all of us, when our oldest son had Spinal fusion surgery that lasted 12 hours and Skull Traction surgery only one parent could stay overnight, and he chose to do the first stay for 2 weeks he never left his son’s side. When his daughter got cancer for the second time and the funds were low and the insurance would not cover her to go to MD Anderson, he helped raise the funds to make sure she received the best care possible. He is a man of quiet strength, whose actions speak louder than words.
This is not the first time Israel has faced a significant medical challenge. A few years ago, he underwent ACL reconstructive surgery to repair damage that came from years of hard labor. Despite following the recovery plan, his intense physical work and constant need to be on his feet meant the repair didn’t last. Now, the damage is severe enough that he needs a total knee reconstruction—a surgery that is more complex, more intense, and requires a longer recovery.
This surgery is crucial for Israel to regain his mobility and quality of life, but it comes with a heavy cost. The recovery will keep him off his feet for an extended period, preventing him from working. And for a man who has always been the provider, who takes pride in his ability to care for his family, this will be a tough road to travel.
Israel has always been the one to help others, but now, he’s the one who needs our help. The cost of the surgery, coupled with the loss of income during his recovery, is overwhelming. We are raising $33,417.80 to cover the expenses associated with the surgery, rehabilitation, and the months of lost wages. This will allow Israel to focus on healing, without the additional burden of financial stress.
