We’re sharing this on behalf of Jason and Elizabeth because right now, they need their community in a very real and tangible way.
On April 6th, everything changed. Jason woke up in extreme pain, and they went straight to the ER. What followed happened quickly—a CT scan revealed a perforated colon, and within hours he was in emergency surgery.
By God’s grace, he made it through and is now recovering. We are so thankful for the care he is receiving and that he is stable.
Since then, further assessments by oncology have revealed stage 4 stomach cancer that has spread to other organs, including the colon. The road ahead is uncertain and heavy, yet ultimately settled in hope. They are taking things one step at a time, leaning on their faith and trusting God for what’s ahead.
This has also created a very real and immediate financial strain.
Jason is the primary provider, and he and Elizabeth recently stepped out of full-time ministry to build SettledCo, which is now their sole source of income. With him in the hospital and treatment and recovery ahead, that income is on pause. They also have a high-deductible health plan, meaning a significant portion of medical expenses will fall on them.
If you know the Settles, you know how deeply they have poured into others. They have been part of countless stories of healing, restoration, and freedom.
Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
