Changes with everything
Vince has a specific gene that is not allowing him to get the normal dosing of chemo. He is now to able to work anymore and in disability. However because of medicare guidelines, he can’t get medicare until 2 years after disabled. So he now he has to wait for 6 months to be able to get his first disability check because he is not 65. So they are forced to now take Cobra and try to find affordable healthcare, which is not affordable because each day he is in the hospital they have to pay $2,000.00 a day. This is utterly insane that people who have paid into social security can’t really get it when they need it.
To top it off his company was bought out by another company and they will have different Cobra insurance. So in September he will be forces to start all over with new doctors and possibly new chemo.
Please continue to pray. Cancer just SUCKS, and it affects everything and drains every part of your body and your life as well as those around you.
Vince was told this past week while getting chemo that Chemo will be life long. The Chemo at this point is being done to prolong his life here with us and to try to keep the cancer from metastasizing. He gas been dealing with this for one year and was told 2 years. Well, appointment this week, the oncologists noted new spots in his lungs. So they are going to change his IV Chemo to a stronger chemo to see if it will stop the growth of the areas on his lungs. This new chemo will be even harder and rougher with more side effects. He was told to get on medicare disability at this point. So now my sister will lose her insurance as she was covered under his insurance. Not the news we were wanting to hear at all. So now they have filed for Vince to get disability medicare. My sister’s health is not good either and insurance is super expensive and not sure she will be able to even get insurance. Whatever you can offer either financially or even just a prayer for a miracle we would greatly appreciate it so much. Still praying for a miracle too
