My name is Tricia. My husband of 15 years, Dallas, was involved in a vehicle accident a year ago. A unlicensed woman ran a stop sign and collided with his Jeep, totaling it and injuring him and his passenger. The other driver was not injured.
We have consulted with an attorney, and he is currently working on my husband’s case, but there is a long road ahead for the completion of that process.
Dallas was seen by medical personnel immediately after the accident and by several doctors in several hospitals which, until recently, misdiagnosed him with soft tissue damage. We have finally found a physician to administer the correct diagnostic tests to show he, in fact, has a spinal injury. He has several injured disks and fluid leakage which has caused him incredible pain and very limited mobility.
He has had no choice but to leave his career of 15 years to seek proper medical treatment in the hopes that his injuries are repairable. At this stage, spinal decompression has less than a 50% success expectancy. We are looking at all possible scenarios to hopefully avoid surgery, however if that is the only successful option, then that will be the road we take.
I am currently working, but my salary alone is just barely enough to cover living expenses. Medical insurance deductibles and copays are very expensive and seem insurmountable.
I am hoping that someone finds it in their heart to help me get my husband the testing and treatment he needs to get him better and, God willing, back to the career he loves so much.
