I have been diagnosed with Leukemia, in 2008 never was told this would be difficult.
My heart is hoping for me to continue to share the rest of the life. Wife my loved ones my journey started in 2008.
I went to my doctor’s appointment, to discover the worst news of my life Leukemia.
Since 2008 I have been on a trial given to safe my life by a Doctor in North Jersey in Elizabeth, New Jersey the doctor was very sad to have to tell me what was happening, and I didn’t understand the language I’m a native guy from El Salvador. I was at the start of my life as a man at 39 with the diagnosis kindest heart and with the will to live. I was put on a trial treatment with Novartis is a medicine called Scemblix which was 20,000 a bottle, the cost was heart stopping when you don’t have the funds or insurance to buy this kind of medicine. I was put on a trial to see. I was prescribed the treatment to start the Leukemia life. It was sent to my home for a while until I got extremely sick on the medication. Then I was taken to by my brother Juan to Virtua Health, where the doctors try to give me treatment as I started to lose my battle with the treatment, the medication was not working for me anymore Now I had to go to Washington DC where my sister. would then take me to Hopkins to see if the doctors would find another medicine to take. The journey was ruff I was sicker and sicker. My body started to lose control where then the treatment was so strong, I thought I was going to die. I was in Hopkins for 3 months where I lost all of myself alone with my fiancé in New Jersey and having to loss everything. I was so scared. I lost my hair my blood work was not coming back well I was treated by so many doctors that gave me the strength to keep fighting to save my life, was send to rehab where I had to learn to take other medications for Diabetes, and other treatments, I couldn’t afford worrying about money to figure out how I was going to pay for this hospital stay and trying to heal and fight for my life. I worked for a tree cutting business, whereby my boss would tell me sleep in the on your breaks and take as many as necessary, I was feeling really unhealthy and had to leave my job. This journey is not one I would like to have anyone experience, I would love to raise, the most money I can to pay for a new treatment, and Hopkins now has been taking bone marrow from me to possibly fine a match for someone else to be my donor, my daughter is in El Salvador trying to come here to United states to see if she can be my donor if possible, I pray I can have the heart to stay alive to one day meet my grandson whom I never met he is now 5 years old. Prayers and healing thoughts that this fundraiser, would help me find a donor.
