A North Georgia law enforcement officer and lifelong member of the western pleasure horse community is facing the battle of his life—an aggressive, high-risk cancer diagnosis that has changed everything overnight.
For years, Christopher Shelnut he has been a pillar of strength and service in our community. In uniform, he has protected our neighborhoods, responded to emergencies, and stood watch to keep families safe. Beyond his duties as an officer, he has been a familiar face in the North Georgia equine world, lending a hand at the barn, sharing his knowledge with fellow riders, and cheering competitors on from the rail at western pleasure events. Chris’ kindness, quiet leadership, and willingness to help others have touched countless lives.
Now, life has placed him on a very different trail. Chris is facing intense medical treatments that require long-distance travel to specialized hospitals, as well as temporary lodging for extended stays away from home. On top of the physical battle, the financial strain of travel costs, medical bills, and day-to-day living expenses has become an overwhelming weight for him and his family.
Our community has always been his priority, and now it’s time for him to feel that same dedication in return. By coming together, we can lighten the load, lift his spirits, and remind him that he is not alone on this journey.
Every tax-deductible donation through GiveTaxFree.org will go directly toward his travel, lodging, and essential living expenses. Your gift allows him to focus on healing, not financial stress, and to feel the full strength of the community he has spent a lifetime serving.
