Looking for help with my journey of the possibility of having Prostate Cancer. I am 63 years old and was hoping to retire at 66 but if I am diagnosed with Prostate Cancer I will not be able to. I have always been fairly healthy and now this has come upon me. I have been out of sorts since my visit with the Urologist. On June 6, 2023 my PSA was 8.5. I went to a Urologist on June 28, 2023. He felt an abnormal area and wants to do a Prostate Ultrasound and Biopsy. I have been thinking about a second opinion but friends and family think that is just a waste of my time. My out of pocket will be at the minimum 6000.00 not including labs and extras. This is something that I cannot afford. This might be the start of my journey but will not know if I have Prostate Cancer until I get these tests. We live paycheck to paycheck. Any help would be appreciated and I am not asking for anymore than what it would cost for these tests. I have looked many places for Grants but cannot find anywhere that gives Grants for these beginning tests. The grants are out there for after you have been diagnosed. If I am diagnosed with Prostate cancer then I probably will extend my campaign at that point and time. I am having a hard time putting everything into words because this has been a sudden impact on my wife and I. Thanks Richard
