Since the middle of April, our dear friend Amanda Light has been facing a terrifying and exhausting medical journey. What started as unexplained fatigue and digestive issues quickly spiraled into a life-altering health crisis. She has endured four emergency room visits, two hospitalizations, and nearly a dozen possible diagnoses before doctors finally reached a conclusion: gastroparesis, colonic inertia, and adrenal fatigue/crisis.
In simple terms, Amanda’s digestive system is no longer functioning properly. Her body’s ability to process food has slowed to a halt, and her adrenal system—responsible for managing stress and essential hormones—has all but shut down. She’s on a cocktail of over two dozen pills each day just to manage her symptoms while she waits for an appointment with a colorectal surgeon in Little Rock.
Amanda is not only fighting for her health—she’s also trying to hold life together for her two young sons who depend on her for love, stability, and care. The mounting medical bills, time off from work, travel for specialty care, and basic living expenses have placed a devastating financial strain on this small family.
